Physicians
J. Daniel Cuevas, M.D.
Dr. J. Daniel Cuevas is board certified in Internal Medicine and Medical Oncology. Dr Cuevas specializes in solid tumors (cancers) and hematologic disorders.
Dr. Cuevas completed his Internal Medicine residence at Washington University - Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St Louis and subsequently completed a fellowship in Medical Oncology and Hematology at Siteman Cancer Center in St. Louis, MO.
Dr. Cuevas has been the Clinical Research Director and Principal Investigator for St. Louis Cancer Care since 2000. He has multiple clinical research publications and abstracts in multiple solid tumors. He currently serves as a medical board advisor for OncoEMR trials (Flatiron Health) and for IO-ICON immunooncology research and development. Dr. Cuevas is a past chief of the oncology division at DePaul Health Center and created the current multi-discipline during his leadership. He is also an active member of the oncology conferences at both the DePaul Health Center and St. Lukes Hospital.

Dr. Cuevas has been honored every year since 2002 as one of St. Louis’ Best Doctors. In addition, Dr. Cuevas has received multiple awards for his excellence and compassion. He is a member of the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO), the European Society for Medical Oncology (ESMO), the Missouri Medical Association and the St. Louis Medical Society.
Craig R. Hildreth, M.D.
Dr. Craig R. Hildreth is board certified in Internal Medicine and Medical Oncology. He joined St. Louis Cancer Care, L.L.P. in 1989. Dr. Hildreth is a graduate of the University of Iowa College of Medicine and completed his residency in Internal Medicine at Washington University Medical Center - Barnes Hospital in St. Louis.
He completed his fellowship training in Medical Oncology at Vanderbilt University Medical Center.
Dr. Hildreth has been named one of the “Best Doctors in St. Louis” annually since 2002, and was selected as a Castle Connolly Medical Ltd. “Top Doctor” in 2006. He is a member of the American Society of Clinical Oncology and the Cancer and Leukemia Group B.
Giancarlo Pillot, M.D.
Giancarlo A Pillot, M.D is board certified in Medical Oncology, Hematology, and Internal Medicine. He specializes in solid tumors (cancers) and hematologic disorders. Dr Pillot treats all solid tumor types although he has a special interest in lung cancer as well as other thoracic (chest) malignancies such as esophageal carcinomas. He joined St. Louis Cancer Care in 2006.
Dr Pillot attended medical school at Wayne State University in Detroit, MI.
He then completed his Internal Medical residence at Washington University/ Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis and subsequently completed a fellowship in Medical Oncology and Hematology at Washington University/Siteman Cancer Center in St. Louis, MO.
Dr Pillot has been included in the St. Louis Magazine list of Best Doctors. He has been active in speaking for community cancer support groups and services as well as lecturing at educational meetings. He is a published author, having edited a textbook on hematology and oncology. He is a member of the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) and the American Society of Hematology (ASH).
Nurse Practitioners
Kathryn Klein, DNP, FNP-C, AOCNP

Kathryn (Katy) is a board certified family nurse practitioner through the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners. She fell in love with caring for oncology patients when she was a registered nurse in the oncology department at DePaul Hospital. She joined St. Louis Cancer Care in 2018 after becoming an advance practice provider.
Katy received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree and her Doctorate of Nursing Practice degree at the University of Missouri-Columbia. She is a member of Oncology Nursing Society and obtained her Advanced Oncology Nurse Practitioner Certification in January 2020.
Danielle Mathis MSN, APRN, FNP-BC
Danielle Mathis is a broad certified family nurse practitioner certified through the American Nurses Credentialing Center. She received her ungraduated degree in Bachelors of Science in Nursing at Southern University of Edwardsville. She has worked in medical oncology since 2009 at Barnes Jewish Hospital. She found her passion early on working with oncology patients. From there, she was inspired to provide a higher level of care and decided to advance her career. She pursued her Masters of Science in Nursing degree at Saint Louis University specializing in Family Nursing Practice. She joined Saint Louis Cancer Care in 2018 to further care for oncology patients in the community.
